Catfish,

It was such a pleasure to meet you, albeit under such sad circumstances, at Nate's memorial service last Sunday. When I described your amazing and moving tribute to Nate to many of my friends, I was told that you are the infamous "Catfish Hodge," so here I am on your Web site sending you a note.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you again how great your impromto words about Nathan meant to all of us from DC (and I'm sure to Nate who I'm sure was looking down on us)! And I'm so glad that you were someone he could talk openly to during his struggle with cancer, recovery, and his last days! I will definitely check out your music; do you still perform here in DC? saw you perform a couple times when i was a jersey boy, and still have 4 of your albums on vinyl!! i even still have the flyer from the chicken legs revue inside the album i bought that night. anyway, thought i'd look you up and am glad to see you're still out there. there's a really cool place here in mercersburg,pa called colonel murphy's mansion house, this town would be blessed indeed if you came to play......

After being in the area for 20+ years, and being a Little Feat fan since the early 70's, I finally caught one of your shows, at JV's (2/17). What a great surprise! Very enjoyable. Loved your presence, your feeling and your music. VERY much liked your piano player. Wondering if you wouldn't mind passing along his email to me (I'd like to see if he's interested in some jazz work in the No VA area).

In the late '70s, I was the doorman at Columbia Station in DC, and Catfish's band was the regular Thursday night act, often drawing better than Friday or Saturday nights. I loved his stuff then, still love it.

I purchased a copy of "Catfish Live" back around 1970, it was phenomenal!!! I am looking for another copy. Anybody have any ideas?? "300 pound fat momma" was an awesome blues tune. . .I miss my copy and I really want to get a new one. "Catfish Live", one of the very BEST blues albums ever!
