Dear Family, Fans and Friends:

As you may know, I am in the throes of recording my third CD (all original material this time)! My good friend, guitarist, and co-writer, Max Evans, and I are collaborating on all the songs and expecting it to be an amazing record. Work began this past June in New York City at Engine Company Records with producer Blake Morgan. Blake has worked with Lenny Kravitz, Lesley Gore, and Phil Ramone, among others – impressive, huh? In order to make this project the best it can be, I am adopting an approach to producing a record that has worked for other independent artists. I am asking you to make a contribution to fund the production of this record in exchange for some special goodies. There are different levels of contribution, and as a contributor, I will keep you updated on our progress via posts to the Diary on the JWB website. We hope to have all sorts of interesting, behind the scenes tidbits such as when brilliant ideas strike, groupies show up or where the best pizza can be found in NYC at 3 a.m.!

The record will cost approximately 20,000 bucks, and we're hoping to raise as much of that as possible. These contributions will be used to pay for studio time, musicians, hookers for musicians (they wish!), artwork, photography, graphics, reproduction, and promotion, promotion, promotion. All without a record company – yep, we can do this together!

Whether or not you choose to contribute, please know I am sincerely moved by the outpouring of love and support I receive from y'all. If it weren't for you, I would not have had the courage to begin this next project. Yeehaw!
