Rescheduled Workshop
Thinking Outside the Box:
A panel discussion on building your audience through creative
production, marketing, and promotion of your music

If you would like to commit time on a regular schedule to help WAMA

Mail Drop and Meeting Space
WAMA will be moving in the near future. We are looking for free
or low cost space to hold our monthly Board meetings and to receive our
mail. This office would preferably be in DC and convenient to Metro.

Six Points Music Festival
Shows Announced
The selection committee has established a line up for this year's Six
Points Music Festival presented by ArlingtonMusicScene.com and co-
sponsored by WAMA (The Washington Area Music Association). For

Below is a list of this year's Performer Selection Committee Members
and the official festival performer line up. The festival will run
from Thursday, April 7th - Friday, April 11th.

Bias Recording

Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer have begun their 15th children's cd, Scat Like That:
A Musical Word Odyssey, to be released on Rounder Records with tracking and
mixing done by both Jim Robeson and Bob Dawson.

Sweet Honey in the Rock are mixing with Jim Robeson for the DVD release of Raise
Your Voice, a PBS American Masters show documenting the group's 30th Anniversary--
to be aired in June. Jim is also busy with Tom Teasley for his 5th release, as well as a
second collaboration between Tom Teasley and Charles Williams. Sharon Dennis & Doris
MacDonald (aka The Braeded Chord) are working with Jim on their second release, as is
David Massey.

Bob Dawson is tracking and mixing Whit Williams' Big Band with honored guests Slide
Hampton and Jimmy Heath. Guitarist Dan Hovey and Bob have just finished off 6 songs
with players Jon Carroll, John Previti, and Jack O'Dell which will be available on Dan's
website-look for it to be up and running shortly. Bob is also mid-project with Karen Henderson,
Brian Fox and Carmelo Pino.

Multi-instrumentalist Gordon Titcomb is working with engineer Mike Fisher on his first release
for Arlo Guthrie's Rising Son Records. The cd will feature players Mike Auldridge, Jon Carroll,
John Previti, Arlo Guthrie, John Miller and Bill Keith, and is co-produced by Titcomb and Abe Guthrie.
Mike is also behind the board as No Second Troy begin tracking their 2nd release. Other recent
projects for Mike include Dave Greksouk, the Nervous Rex, and Driftwood.

Bill Wolf has been in recently working on projects for both Donna Hughes (Produced by Tony Rice
for Rounder Records) and The Seldom Scene.

Headed for mastering are projects by Holly Cross Vagley, engineered by Jim Robeson; Cathy Jean,
engineered by Bob Dawson; and Perry Conticchio engineered by Mike Fisher and Bob Dawson.

Slated for release this week is Mary Ann Redmond's Send the Moon produced by John Jennings on
Spellbound Music and engineered by Bob Dawson and Mike Fisher.

And just released on Tulloch Music is Bonnie Rideout's - Scottish Trio Live - The Barns of Wolftrap,
with Guest Piper Jerry O'Sullivan which was mixed by Jim Robeson.

Hammered Dulcimer Bash
Jody Marshall, Ken Kolodner, Karen Ashbrook and Maggie Sansone,
four of America's premier hammered dulcimer players and top Cetlic musicians,
all from the Washington D.C. area, and Wammie winners will
join for one big Celtic-Americana extravaganza and double CD release
concert at The Birchmere, April 3, 7:30.
