Nils Lofgren
World
renowned guitarist (and pianist) Nils Lofgren moved to the Washington
area as a teenager. Nils came to the attention of Neil Young and Danny
Whitten in 1971 resulting in an invitation to appear on their Crazy Horse
recording. Young then featured his talents heavily on "After The Gold
Rush," released when Nils was only seventeen years old. Lofgren's much
heralded performance enabled his original band, Grin to secure a recording
contract resulting in three albums. As Grin faded, Nils embarked on a
solo career with the 1975 release of "Nils Lofgren" on A&M records. In
1984, Nils accepted an invitation to join Bruce Springsteen's E Street
Band that lasted through three world tours and several albums. At the
same time Nils continued his solo career. Lofgren has also toured as a
featured member of Ringo Starr's All-Star Band.
