WAMA Board Enacts Rule Changes Each year the
WAMA Board of Directors works to improve the Wammies Nomination Ballot
and the voting process. This year after much discussion and many suggestions
the following changes were enacted
- The Alternative Rock/Underground genre was divided into
two separate genres; Rock-Alternative Rock and Rock-Underground
/Punk/Hardcore
- The Irish genre was amended to read Irish/Celtic
- The Metal genre was changed to Rock-Metal/Hard Rock
Two new genres were added:
- Rock-Techno/Ambient/Electronic/lndustrial
- New Age
In the General Awards section, Manager of the Year was
added. The definition under Most Supportive of Washington Music
was removed. The Board agreed that wording should be placed
on each page of the ballot strongly encouraging members to
nominate two names in each category. Finally, it was agreed that
the Honor Roll would be discontinued.
