Studio News
Bias Recording
- Three time Wammies Best Recording Engineer, Jim Robeson
celebrates his 15th anniversary with Bias Recording. During his
career, he has worked with scores of artists including Sweet
Honey in the Rock, Taj Mahal and Aaron Neville.
- A remote recording took engineers Jim Robeson and Heidi Gerber
to the home of Mary Chapin Carpenter to record her with
friend Shawn Colvin for portions of In the Spotlight which
was nationally televised on PBS on July 26.
- For that same show, Bob Dawson, engineered the audio
recording of Ms.Carpenter's July 2nd and 3rd concerts at Wolftrap,
using Record Plant Remote.
- July was a busy month for Mary Chapin and Band, who recorded
a John Lennon song Grow Old With Me, which will be included on
a tribute album to be released on Hollywood Records. Jim
Robeson recorded and mixed the track.
- Bob Dawson has just finished the mixes for The Rankin Family's
upcoming EMI record. John Jennings produced the project.
- Engineer Heidi Gerber has been busy with a number of projects
including releases for Keith Killgo and Dean Shostak,
along with projects for Bugleweed and Lisa Moscatiello.
- And finally, projects for Chesapeake (Sugar Hill Records)
and the Bluegrass Album Band (Rounder) are in the
works with Bill Wolf behind the board.
Hit and Run Studios
- Ruthie and the Wranglers are currently recording their
first full length CD at Hit and Run Studios. The album should
be ready for release this fall and will contain mostly original
material. Also, they were featured in the July Issue of Washingtonian
magazine as of ficial barbecue tasting judges.
Wired For Sound Productions
- Wired For Sound Productions/Records located in Capitol Heights,
MD celebrated its official grand opening in April. The 2,310 sq.
ft. facility houses two "state-of-the-art" production studios,
staff of fices, and a rehearsal/multi-use room which is available
for meetings, seminars, networking functions, and band/group rehearsals,
etc. Its independent record label is seeking new talent. To schedule
